It’s Never Too Early to Start Planning
As the temperatures outside drop and the leaves begin to change color and weddings aren’t necessarily on the top of everyone’s minds. The popular wedding season is during the summer so it’s best to get a head start. 2019 brides with weddings would do well to start planning now. Planning during the fall will give you time to make changes with your vendors before the summer comes. It’s never to start planning for your Summer Wedding. It will be here before you know it!
Experts would suggest the planning process at least 9 months in advance. That would give you a comfortable window of time between now and summer of 2019. In fact, they suggest starting your wedding planning as soon as you get engaged. Considering the average length of engagement before the wedding date is 16 months. That doesn’t help couples getting married in 2019 for their summer wedding. Keep that in mind if you’ve gotten recently engaged!
What Do You Need to Get Started?
All, you need to start planning for your big day is a pen and paper! Start writing down any ideas you may have in mind so that you don’t forget them. Making simple drawings of aspects such as staging, table layout, etc. is a good way to get started as well. Don’t worry, stick figures are fine!
The next step to take would be to start a wedding folder or binder. Get a simple folder or 3-ring binder to dedicate to things like notes and printed pictures. Not only are bridal websites like The Knot and Wedding Wire great for inspiration but others such as gardening, design, and food sites have a lot to offer. Even look at the local papers for the area that you will be getting married. These websites will help with the do’s and don’ts for a summer wedding.
One of the more stressful processes of wedding planning can be working on a budget. Figuring out how much you’re able to spend versus the cost of everything combined tends to be a massive headache for most. With early planning, you can at least reduce it to a small headache. Getting your budgeting done early will certainly help when you’ve got other things to worry about such as organizing, catering, and rentals. If you have your budget lined up early enough, you’ll be able to effectively work within that budget when the time comes to spend it, and maybe even save some money. Don’t forget to factor in the cost of things like announcement photos, invitations, and the rehearsal dinner!
